Baker/Bakery Assistant

NEW WORLD KAIKŌURA, JOB VACANCY BAKER – BAKERY ASSISTANT - PERMANENT FULL TIME We currently have a vacancy for a Baker or bakery assistant to join our team on a full time basis. Days of work to be negotiated but will include a weekend day. Daily Tasks Involved in the role:

• Producing a full range of high quality bakery products
• Ensuring food safety and health & safety standards are met
• Delivering exceptional customer service
• Ensuring all products are merchandised to a high standard
• Working with and ensuring all bakery equipment is operated and maintained correctly
• Maintaining a positive working relationship with the whole bakery team and the wider New World Kaikōura team

The person/people we are looking for will have the following attributes:

• 2 years’ experience, equivalent to NZ Certificate in Baking
• Quick learner willing to follow direction
• Be able to work well in a team, but also be able to complete tasks unassisted in the required timeframe
• Must be able to show initiative
• Must be honest and reliable
• Must be physically fit as they will be on their feet all day
• Have a good sense of humour!
• Must have a positive approach to their day and have a ‘can-do’ attitude
• Have a passion for giving excellent customer service and going the extra mile for our customers
• Must enjoy early starts 🙂
• Must have great presentation skills and attention to detail
• Please note: Our busiest times are long weekends/public holidays, and summer holidays
